Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care and implementing/evaluating direct patient care.
• Prepare patients for exam and treatment: take and record vital signs, symptoms, measurements, chief complaint; document pain scores.
• Report patient condition changes to clinicians.
• Assist providers with exams and minor in-office procedures: blood pressure, respiration, heart rate/pulse, temperature, ear irrigation, EKG; act as chaperon as needed.
• Use universal blood/body fluid precautions and PPE.
• Prioritize patient flow through clinical process.
• Coordinate and manage patient care: pre-certifications, authorizations, prescriptions, scheduling.
• Communicate test results to patients.
• Act as a resource to clinicians for optimal patient care.
