Lead Medical Assistant
Become a part of our caring community. The Lead Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care, responsible for administrative tasks in addition to patient care. This role assumes ownership and leads advanced and specialized administrative, operational, and customer support responsibilities that require independent initiative and judgment.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical responsibilities including discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, and medication/vaccine administration.
- Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and conduct diagnostic screening tests.
- Sterilize and clean equipment, maintain examination rooms, and document information into the electronic medical records system.
- Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers to deliver direct patient care dependent on active certification.
- Make decisions regarding daily priorities for an administrative work group and external vendors, including coordinating work activities and monitoring progress towards schedules/goals.
- Serve as the primary administrative owner of a main process, program, product, or technology.
- Contribute to process improvement, deliver in-depth education, and provide advanced guidance/mentoring to other Medical Assistants.
Requirements
- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Medication/vaccine administration experience.
- 3+ years of Medical Assistant experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR Certified.
- This role is considered patient-facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program; selected candidates will be required to be screened for TB.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience in a Primary Care Office (PCO) center.
- Value-Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish; must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication.
Pay
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location, and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, and certifications.
$48,300 - $65,900 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based upon company and/or individual performance.
