About the role

This role assists in leading the day-to-day activities of the department operations in a retail store. Responsibilities include training associates, ensuring full staffing, meeting company standards, and achieving financial goals.

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain inventory in the department, using inventory control procedures to ensure product freshness and quality.
• Cut and weigh steaks, chops, etc. for individual servings.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight, condition, and ensure all product is stored in appropriate areas.
• Aid the Department Manager in managing a team that completes all stocking, production, and additional tasks to ensure product quality, production planning, accuracy, and date-sensitive rotation, as well as handling spoiled/damaged products according to established guidelines.
• Maintain familiarity with all products carried in the department and throughout the store, knowing advertised items, special prices, coupon deals, and store sales and rewards programs.
• Communicate and execute the weekly and period Flight Plan to company expectations and timeline.
• Implement Our Winning Recipe and model core values and competencies.
• Manage department management including staffing, training, performance management, and career development of associates.
• Develop and monitor department forecasts, as required.
• Attend and participate in daily huddles.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department, following structure of the day guidelines and Prime Time standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety guidelines and requirements.
• Take immediate corrective action if food safety guidelines are not followed.
• Develop and implement a plan to meet company goals and key performance indicators.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents
• Basic mathematical skills
• Basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc.)
• Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products preferred
• Detail-oriented

Skills

• Physical stamina to lift and move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning frequently.
• Exposure to varying temperatures and outside weather conditions.
• Ability to communicate effectively and follow safety guidelines and expectations.
