About the role

The Lead Maintenance Technician oversees the maintenance and janitorial needs of the building, acting as a leader and role model for the team. Key responsibilities include performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, ensuring safety, and managing work orders.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and responds to work orders, including follow-up with residents and management.
• Aids in safety trainings and inspections.
• Follows up with repairs of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical issues.
• Communicates with management on project updates and inspection requirements, adhering to deadlines.
• Performs installations and repairs according to local, state, and national codes.
• Inspects work for quality, completion, safety, and compliance with contracts.
• Manages and maintains safety equipment and appliances.

Requirements

• Advanced skills in maintenance and a strong background in multi-family apartment maintenance.
• Experience as a certified journeyman level craftsman in one or more building trades or a vocational-tech graduate with a journeyman rating in one or more trade classifications.
• Basic mathematical and computer skills, fluency in English, and knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in multi-family apartment maintenance.
• Proven experience comparable to a certified journeyman level craftsman in one or more building trades or vocational-tech graduate with a journeyman rating in one or more trade classifications.
