About the role
The Lead Maintenance Technician oversees the maintenance and janitorial needs of the building, acting as a leader and role model for the team. Key responsibilities include performing a wide range of maintenance tasks, from preventative and emergency repairs to inspections and safety checks. The position requires strong safety practices, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication.
Responsibilities
- Schedules and responds to work orders, ensuring timely follow-up with residents and management.
- Aids in safety trainings and inspections, ensuring compliance with local, state, and national codes.
- Performs installations and repairs according to local codes, and inspects work for quality, safety, and compliance.
- Manages and operates safety equipment and appliances to ensure proper functioning.
- Functions in an on-call capacity and maintains reliable transportation.
Requirements
- Advanced skills in maintenance and a minimum of 5+ years of multi-family apartment maintenance experience, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience in one or more building trades or vocational-tech graduate with a journeyman rating.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills, fluency in English, and ability to perform basic calculations and use computers.

- Ability to operate and install various equipment and perform repairs safely and efficiently.
