Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling medical malpractice matters
  • Draft, revise, and proofread pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and legal correspondence
  • Assist with all aspects of case management, including maintaining electronic and physical case files
  • Coordinate and manage court filings (state and federal), including e-filing and docket management
  • Track and calendar critical deadlines, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
  • Request, organize, summarize, and manage medical records, billing records, and expert materials
  • Communicate professionally with clients, medical providers, experts, court personnel, and opposing counsel
  • Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit lists, trial notebooks, subpoenas, and logistics
  • Support attorneys with compliance filings, expert disclosures, and discovery tracking

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a legal assistant or litigation assistant, with medical malpractice experience required
  • Working knowledge of Florida civil procedure, court rules, and litigation deadlines
  • Experience handling medical records, HIPAA authorizations, and medical chronologies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with litigation and document management systems preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and strong commitment to client service and confidentiality

Pay

$70,000 - $80,000 per year
