About the role
The Lead Interior Cabinet Technician at West Star is responsible for managing cabinet modifications and installations, performing quality checks, supervising team members, and assisting with engineering on major modification projects.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage cabinet modifications and installations by communicating with the CAE Director of Maintenance and various other departmental staff.
- Determine flow for completing assignments.
- Perform quality checks, supervise and assign personnel on daily activities.
- Prepare and deliver annual performance evaluations of assigned team members.
- Aid in engineering on design for major modification projects.
- Remove, repair, and modify aircraft cabinets with little or no supervision.
- Work independently on projects.
- Complete daily turnover sheets, work order processes, and tooling when required.
- Assist with training to ensure job knowledge and performance of interior personnel.
- Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Requirements
- A High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of supervisory training classes preferred.
- 8+ years prior experience in aircraft cabinets.
- Exclusive knowledge in all areas of the job.
- Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments.
- Notify supervisor in advance if unable to work.
- Reliable transportation to work.
- Comply with FAA guidelines and follow company and safety rules.
- Maintain customer-oriented work habits.
- Assist in major modification work as needed.
Qualifications
- Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines including but not limited to OSHA, Hazmat, etc.
- Professional communication skills (speaking, writing, reading).
- Ability to plan and organize procedures and operations.
- Supervision of other technicians in some capacity.
- Minimal supervision when required.
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of aircraft cabinets and interior installations.
- Ability to evaluate and adjust modifications.
- Training and maintaining workflow.
- Effective communication skills.

Pay
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $35-$42. Additional compensation in the form of a shift differential will be provided if the employee is assigned to an alternate shift.
Schedule
The Lead Interior Cabinet Technician works second shift and has a weekly pay schedule.
