LEAD INSTALL TECHNICIAN- MECHANICAL PROJECTS
Position Summary
The Lead Install Technician is a skilled field role responsible for coordinating and executing mechanical and HVAC-related projects within the Service Department. This position supports the installation, replacement, and upgrade of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems for special projects and non-routine work. The Lead Install Technician works closely with Service leadership, project managers, technicians, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. The role focuses on field coordination, installation quality, job site safety, and ensuring project work progresses according to schedule and scope. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Core Responsibilities
Perform and support installation, replacement, and upgrade of commercial HVAC and mechanical systems
Carefully coordinate daily job site activities to support project schedules and scope of work
Assist with mechanical installation work including piping, equipment placement, and system connections
Ensure mechanical work is completed according to project specifications and company standards
Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
Project Coordination
Work with Service leadership to review active and upcoming projects
Coordinate with technicians, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain project workflow
Aid in job planning including materials, tools, and equipment needed for project execution
Communicate job progress, site conditions, and project updates to management
Identify and communicate potential delays, risks, or scope changes
Quality & Safety
Follow and promote company safety policies and procedures on all job sites
Ensure mechanical installations meet company standards, project specifications, and applicable codes
Monitor job site conditions and ensure work is performed safely and efficiently
Support routine job site inspections and safety compliance efforts
Documentation & Communication
Assist with job documentation including progress updates, field reports, and materials tracking
Communicate effectively with internal teams, project stakeholders, and customers when required
Support project completion activities including final inspections and punch list work

Required Skills & Experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with commercial HVAC or mechanical systems
Experience working on equipment replacements, piping systems, and HVAC installations
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and job scopes
Ability to safely operate tools and equipment used in mechanical installation
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Brief computer or mobile device familiarity for documentation and communication
Schedule
Full-time position. Work hours: Typical schedule is working four (4), 10-hour days, 40 hours per week depending on the particular project to which assigned. Occasionally, work obligations may require overtime hours, including evening and weekend work to accommodate customers’ needs. Schedules are subject to change based on business demand and seasonal workload. Ability to lift tools, equipment, and materials (50+ lbs)
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb ladders as required
Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and outdoor environments
Ability to safely navigate active job sites and mechanical work areas
Frequent field presence required during project execution
Selection Requirements
Valid, non-expired state-issued driver's license
Passing a driving records check (as determined by our insurer)
Passing a criminal history check
