Lead Host/Hostess
Summary: The Lead Host/Hostess is responsible for the positive experience of guests while waiting for their table while maintaining the quality standards. This position is responsible for the supervision of other host/hostess and ensuring that guest reservations are made properly with excellent customer service.
Control the flow of restaurant activity in the room by seating guests in proper station rotation while maintaining guest reservation lists and following and enforcing all restaurant standards.
Greet guests in a professional and warm manner.
Inform guests of daily resort activities and be able to “sell” the resort.
Meet all phone etiquette standards.
Assign opening and/or closing duties as well as side duties.
Supervise host side work and ensure complete list of set up of all stations.
Ensure correct number of menu's are ready and available for each station prior to start of the shift.
Oversee reservations in OpenTable, take incoming phone calls, note reservations and special requests by guests.
Lead by example; support the department operation and provide direct service to guests as needed.
Maintain and strictly abide by federal and state sanitation/health regulations and company policies at all times.
Collaborate with the Food & Beverage management team to drive outstanding results and create an exceptional working environment.
Qualifications
High school or equivalent education
Minimum of two (2) years’ host/hostess experience
Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Micros, OpenTable and Outlook; daily use of nearly all programs will occur
Preferred Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred
Bachelor’s Degree
Physical Requirements
Position requires walking and standing most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
Requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 40 lbs. frequently.
Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.
