About the Role

Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following:

  • Sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, and raking
  • Assist with installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units

Must exercise independent judgment; may be asked to demonstrate tasks to other employees but position does not include supervision of other workers. Ensure tools and equipment are safely transported and accounted for between worksites. Must lift/carry 50 lbs. when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required when necessary.

Requirements

  • Three months of previous landscape experience
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. driver's license within 30 days of hire
  • Post-hire post-accident drug testing required
  • Must be able, willing, and available for the job
  • Applicants must possess documentation required to complete Form I-9 employment eligibility verification

Location & Transportation

Job location: 1011 Foggy Hollow Rd, Gibsonia, PA 15044 and multiple worksites within Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, and Washington counties.

  • Employer provides incidental transport between job sites
  • Employer may deduct reasonable costs for daily transportation to/from worksite from designated pick-up location (use of employer-provided transportation is voluntary)

Pay

  • Wage rate: $19.69 per hour
  • Overtime rate: $29.54 per hour (hours vary)
  • Raises and/or bonuses may be offered at employer's discretion based on performance, skill, and tenure
  • Payroll period: bi-weekly, paid by check on Friday
  • Standard work schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday (40 hours per week guaranteed; additional hours may be offered depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions)
  • Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours

Employer makes all payroll deductions required by law. Voluntary deductions must be pre-authorized in writing and may include:

  • Reasonable fair market value cost of rent/utilities for employer-arranged housing (cost TBD)
  • Daily transportation costs to/from worksite from a centralized designated pick-up location
  • Health insurance premiums for workers voluntarily participating in the plan

Benefits & Reimbursements

  • Employer pays in advance or reimburses workers in the first workweek for all government-mandated and visa-related fees (excluding passport fees)
  • For non-local workers (residing outside normal commuting distance), employer reimburses inbound travel costs at the 50% point in the contract, including:
    • Transportation costs from worker's permanent residence or place of recruitment
    • Daily meal subsistence: $16.78 per day minimum without receipts; up to $68.00 per day with receipts
    • Lodging costs: up to $110.00 per day with receipts

    Reimbursements are based on the least-cost common carrier rate.

  • Employer provides or pays outbound travel costs upon completion of the contract period or early dismissal, except where the worker has subsequent employment or voluntarily abandons employment
  • Employer guarantees to offer hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 6-week period of the total contract period
  • Employer provides all tools, supplies, and equipment (including uniforms, if applicable) necessary to perform duties
  • If requested, employer helps non-local workers secure optional worker-paid lodging
