Grounds Maintenance Specialist

About the role

The Grounds Maintenance Specialist maintains 29 acres of senior living property including mowing, edging, shrub and tree trimming, and irrigation maintenance. Performs most tasks independently with occasional assistance of outside vendor. Is available to respond to maintenance emergencies that may arise outside of regular working hours.

Responsibilities

• Prior experience in building maintenance
• Knowledge of the following:
• Must possess a valid driver’s license; must have clean driving record with no major violations.
• Must have prior experience in groundskeeping
• Must have prior experience in irrigation

Requirements

• Practices good safety awareness and follows safety procedures, including infection control measures where applicable.
• Able to be self-supervising and self-motivating. Able to set priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates a positive, courteous and respectful attitude to residents, families, staff and visitors.

Qualifications
