Lead Field Service Technician
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Perform vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, and various electrical tests while diagnosing and repairing units.
- Lead jobs and other service technicians in the field.
- Represent the company in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
- Avoidance of job hazards through the completion of a field service safety checklist.
- Install/Remove AC and DC electric motors, laser align equipment, read precision measuring tools, replace sleeve and anti-friction bearings, set seals, air gaps, torque critical components to proper torque specs.
- Strong problem-solving skills to think outside the box and get the customer back online quickly and safely.
- Effective communication with FS Manager, FS Coordinator, and customers alike to convey scope changes, findings, actions taken, and solutions.
Qualifications and Competencies
- PdMA testing experience preferred.
- Level I Vibration Analysis preferred.
- 4+ years of AC/DC motor experience preferred.
- Laser shaft alignment experience preferred.
- PLC, Instrumentation, Controls experience preferred.
- 480V – 4160V Variable Frequency Drive troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions with precise execution.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work procedures, and apply strong analytical problem-solving dynamics in a continuous improvement environment.
- Strong customer focus with professional communication.
- Available and willing to work flexible hours, overtime, and weekends as required, and willing to be on call.
- Basic computer skills.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
