Lead Engineer - Overnight Shift

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and supervise overnight Engineer I, II, and III, and Paint Tech team members, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to standard.
• Delegate daily tasks, prioritize work orders, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
• Train team members on equipment, safety procedures, and preventative maintenance standards.
• Perform and oversee routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance for guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and hotel infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and repair building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, etc.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal codes and safety regulations.
• Respond promptly to guest and operational maintenance issues to minimize service disruption.
• Serve as an on-duty leader for engineering-related issues when management is unavailable.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of hotel, resort, or commercial building engineering experience.
• Familiarity with maintenance management systems (HotSOS).
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
• Trade certifications or licenses preferred (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
• Prior experience in a full-service or luxury hotel environment preferred.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of hand power tools and standard engineering equipment.
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to function well under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines.
• Mature personal discretion and sound judgment.
• Strong leadership abilities, sound judgment, superior problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and project management skills, with particular attention to quality and detail.
• Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.

Schedule

Variation in shift work, including weekends and holidays, is required.
