About the role
To assist or perform repairs and maintenance of equipment and the physical structure of hotel; in a safe, efficient and professional manner, as assigned by the Director of Engineering or Assistant of Director of Engineering.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service
- Repairs, maintains and inspects plumbing, physical structure, electrical wiring and fixtures, machinery, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, spa, kitchen and laundry equipment, in accordance with blue prints, manuals, and building codes, using hand and power tools, carpenter, electrician, and plumbing tools
- Measures, cuts and installs pipes and tubing for gas and water
- Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and other plumbing equipment and opens clogged drains
- Installs electrical equipment and repairs or replaces wiring and fixtures
- Occasionally makes and repairs shelves, partitions and other wooden structures
- Occasionally paints walls, floors, woodwork and fixtures of establishment
- Occasionally replace and repairs brick, concrete and sheetrock walls and structures
- Starts devices to test their performance
- Repairs and replaces locks
- Replaces light bulbs throughout the building
- Performs repairs to swimming pool/spa equipment
- Helps and assists other departments
- Uses Royal Services software and other preventive maintenance software to track time and work
- Uses assigned handheld devices such as an iTouch and radio to communicate work
- Is familiar with all fire and emergency procedures
- Conducts and/or attends meetings to maintain favorable working relationships among company employees and promote maximum morale, productivity, and efficiency
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares reports, as requested, to develop a more informative data base for improved management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities
- Maintains shop and other work areas in a clean and organized condition as assigned
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate with guests and team members
- Maintenance and/or technical background
- Minimum five years’ experience
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical Trade School Certificate (HVAC or Electrical or Plumbing)
- Prior experience in Hotel Maintenance Engineering
- Some college/University preferred

- Clear thinker and able to perform without supervision
Physical Demands
- Good physical condition
- Regular bending, kneeling and reaching
- Regular lifting and moving of heavy materials
- Standing most of the day
- Continuous walking
