About the role
PAE is seeking a dynamic Lead Electrical Engineer to support our growth in San Francisco. The ideal candidate shares our passion for sustainable engineering design and has experience mentoring junior engineers, consulting with clients, and conducting site visits.
Responsibilities
- Oversight of deliverables and documents including narratives, calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Application of electrical distribution, lighting, and power systems design
- Communicating design options to diverse stakeholder groups
- Providing engineering direction and guidance for the project team
- Independently evaluating and applying engineering judgment, techniques, and procedures to complete projects
- Overseeing electrical load calculations
- Ensuring projects are completed within budget and schedule
- Evaluating and applying knowledge of other disciplines and coordinating inter-disciplinary efforts
- Updating master specifications and providing input into standards
- Performing engineering calculations and equipment selection
- Providing opinions on probable construction costs
- Conducting site visits and preparing issue reports
- Applying knowledge of distribution load flow, short circuit, and arc flash energy analysis using Easy Power
- Implementing the project quality management plan (QMP)
- Performing other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline
- Relevant Professional Credential (PE) preferred
- Minimum 3-5 years of Electrical engineering experience or 4-6 years’ related work experience
- Advanced understanding of electrical engineering concepts
- Thorough understanding of project phases and associated deliverables
- Developed ability to assemble and lead a team
- Strong delegation and communication skills
Qualifications
- Knowledge and application of the NEC and relevant building and energy codes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with Revit/AutoCAD
- Ability to implement Easy Power for energy analysis

Benefits
- Hiring Base Salary Range: $104,200 - $128,700 annually
- Time and a half overtime pay
