Lead EEG Technologist - Neurology EEG Lab

About the role

The clinical Lead EEG Technologist oversees the EEG teams in both Portland and Scarborough and the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at MMC Portland, ensuring high-quality patient care, consistent clinical standards, efficient workflow coordination, and strong communication across locations.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced neurodiagnostic expertise and day-to-day operational oversight for the EEG teams.
• Mentors staff, supports training and competency development, and collaborates with physicians, leaders, and multidisciplinary partners within Neuroscience Services.
• Serves as a working technologist while mentoring staff, supporting training and competency development, and collaborating with physicians, leaders, and multidisciplinary partners within Neuroscience Services.

Requirements

• Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology Program required.
• Current ABRET credential (R. EEG T.) required.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
• Maintains required continuing education (minimum 10 CEUs annually).
• Minimum 3–5 years of EEG experience.
• Experience with LTM, EMU operations, or ICU EEG monitoring.
• Proficiency with EEG acquisition systems and neurodiagnostic software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills

• Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
• Multisite or supervisory experience preferred.
