About the role
The clinical Lead EEG Technologist oversees the EEG teams in both Portland and Scarborough and the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at MMC Portland, ensuring high-quality patient care, consistent clinical standards, efficient workflow coordination, and strong communication across locations.
Responsibilities
- Provides advanced neurodiagnostic expertise and day-to-day operational oversight for the EEG teams.
- Mentors staff, supports training and competency development, and collaborates with physicians, leaders, and multidisciplinary partners within Neuroscience Services.
- Serves as a working technologist while mentoring staff, supporting training and competency development, and collaborating with physicians, leaders, and multidisciplinary partners within Neuroscience Services.
Requirements
- Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology Program required.
- Current ABRET credential (R. EEG T.) required.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.
- Maintains required continuing education (minimum 10 CEUs annually).
- Minimum 3–5 years of EEG experience.
- Experience with LTM, EMU operations, or ICU EEG monitoring.
- Proficiency with EEG acquisition systems and neurodiagnostic software.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
- Multisite or supervisory experience preferred.
