Job Overview/Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented EEG Technologist to perform electroencephalographic studies for both inpatient and outpatient populations. The ideal candidate will conduct diagnostic procedures, ensure patient safety and comfort, collaborate with physicians, and support accurate neurological assessments.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and continuous EEG recordings for inpatient and outpatient services.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining testing processes and ensuring comfort.
- Apply and maintain electrodes according to established protocols and standards.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and procedure records.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of EEG equipment.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and hospital compliance standards.
- Collaborate with neurologists and healthcare teams to support diagnostic accuracy.
Primary Skills
- Proficiency in performing EEG procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Strong understanding of neurophysiology and EEG waveforms.
- Knowledge of patient monitoring and safety protocols.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot EEG equipment.
- Strong communication and patient care skills.
Secondary Skills (Good To Have)
- Experience with long-term monitoring and video EEG.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Experience in a fast-paced hospital environment with diverse patient populations.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited neurophysiology technologist program or equivalent training experience.
- Minimum one (1) year of clinical EEG experience in a hospital with outpatient and inpatient services.
- BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire.
- Must obtain board certification in the appropriate function within two (2) years of hire date.
- Preferred: Two (2) years of clinical EEG experience with outpatient and inpatient services.
