Lead DSP- Tucson IDLA

About the role

RISE is seeking an IDLA Home Team Lead Direct Support Professional. This position is a safety-sensitive role responsible for managing assigned residential supports, coaching, training, developing, and disciplining direct support professionals, ensuring compliance with licensing requirements, and promoting the rights of people receiving support.

Responsibilities

• Provide team lead support to meet and exceed customer expectations
• Coach, train, and develop direct support professionals
• Ensure support provided meets expectations outlined in RISE and state policies and procedures
• Comply with all licensing requirements and maintain a learning organization
• Maintain necessary records, logs, and documentation
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions
• Schedule and conduct regular staff meetings
• Work with HCBS coordinator to ensure staffing ratios are met
• Affirm compliance with DCI-Direct Care Intervention time and attendance procedures
• Demonstrate competency in financial and budgetary issues
• Model appropriate behavior and support people in using appropriate language, dress, manners, and respect
• Maintain clean and safe environments
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies
• Evaluate the effectiveness of each person's plan on a weekly basis
• Support people in achieving outcomes identified in their plan
• Complete monthly summaries for each person and forward to families and support coordinators
• Assist people with supports of daily living, accessing the community, medication, and medical issues when indicated
• Work flexible hours and in a variety of settings

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED and a combination of two (2) years supervising staff and experience working in a related field; an Associate Degree and a combination of two (2) years of supervising staff and experience working in a related field is preferred
• Verbal and written communication skills adequate to the specific job
• At least 21 years of age and meet requirements of RISE vehicle insurance agency if required to drive a RISE Vehicle
• Satisfactory background clearance and obtain Level One Fingerprint Card
• Self-directed, works with minimal supervision
• Ability to work flexible hours
• First Aid/CPR certified

Additional Candidacy Requirements

• Valid Arizona driver's license, minimum of twenty-one years of age, and meet driver requirements as specified by RISE Insurance Agency
• Able to complete a successful background check, driving record check, drug test, and obtain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
