Key Responsibilities
- Assist members with daily living activities (hygiene, meals, mobility, etc.)
- Transport members and assist with appointments
- Maintain a clean, safe, and structured environment
- Mentor, train, and support DSP staff
- Act as a liaison for families and team communication
- Help resolve challenges and support program operations
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation (service plans, logs, reports, etc.)
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of experience in direct care, behavioral health, or disabilities field
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills
- Ability to problem-solve and remain calm in crisis situations
- Experience with documentation and care coordination (preferred)
- Valid AZ driver’s license & acceptable driving record (if required)
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screen, and obtain Fingerprint Clearance Card (Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift/assist (50+ lbs., team lift)
- Frequent standing, bending, and movement
- Ability to assist with transfers and mobility support
About the Role
The Lead Direct Support Professional will provide individualized and quality services to members with disabilities in group homes. They will follow and teach using service plans, teach/demonstrate daily living skills, leisure skills, and plan community involvement activities. They will present necessary information at staff meetings and act as a liaison for family concerns, as needed.
