Lead Custodian - University Housing

About the role

The Lead Custodian works under the general direction of the Associate Director of Custodial Operations. They are responsible for general cleaning and custodial care and support for assigned campus buildings, facilities, structures and adjacent areas.

Responsibilities

• Train and instruct others in the performance of their duties, including appropriate custodial practices and techniques, and the safe use of equipment and materials.
• Ensure health and safety standards are followed and take immediate action to correct all unsafe conditions.
• Assign, review, and inspect the work of assigned staff, including completion of inspection forms and reporting of any operational concerns.
• Assist in maintaining employee time records and reporting absences and provide input for employee evaluations.
• Custodial staff may work independently or as part of a custodial team.
• Coordinate custodial support for Housing events.

Requirements

• Equivalent to one to two years of related custodial or janitorial experience and providing on-the-job training and leadership to others.

Pay

Anticipated Hiring Range: $51,576 - $60,420 Per Year
Classification Range: $43,152 - $60,420 Per Year

Schedule

Full-time schedule: 8 hours on Saturday, 8 hours on Sunday, and three 8 hour weekday shifts.
Daily work hours: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Duration: Permanent Full-Time Position
