Lead Course Editor

About the role

ActionVFX Academy is building the premier destination for VFX artists to master emerging technologies, learn from industry leaders, and accelerate their careers. We're seeking an exceptional Lead Course Editor to help make this vision a reality.

Responsibilities

• Craft Exceptional Learning Experiences
• Edit Academy courses from raw footage through final review
• Shape pacing, storytelling, and visuals to create engaging, easy-to-follow learning experiences
• Design graphics, motion graphics, and branded elements that elevate every course while following ActionVFX brand guidelines
• Own Post-Production
• Lead the post-production process across multiple Academy courses
• Deliver polished edits that are ready for final review
• Continuously improve editing workflows, quality standards, and production efficiency
• Keep all projects organized for efficient editing, delivery, and archiving
• Lead Freelance Editors
• Coordinate and support our network of freelance editors
• Provide editors with templates for editing and graphics so they stay on brand and can work efficiently
• Review edits, provide clear feedback, and ensure projects stay on schedule
• Maintain consistency in editing quality, branding, and learner experience
• Champion Course Quality
• Advocate for the learner in every editing decision
• Coordinate beta testing and ensure valuable feedback is incorporated
• Help every course meet the high standards of the ActionVFX brand
• Partner to Build the Academy
• Work closely with product leadership to bring world-class courses to life
• Take ownership of the details so the final review is of a finished product

Requirements

We're looking for an editor who is ready for more ownership, more influence, and the opportunity to help build something from the ground up. You should have:

• An exceptional editing skill set
• A passion for creating educational content that people genuinely enjoy watching
• The ability to notice details that others might miss
• A desire to help other editors improve their work
• A strong understanding of ActionVFX brand guidelines
• Experience working with a network of freelance editors
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Qualifications

Essential qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Film, Video Production, Animation, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional editing experience
• Experience working with a variety of video formats and styles
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other relevant software
• Experience with motion graphics and branding
• Strong understanding of storytelling and pacing
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Skills

Pay

Salary range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Full-time position with flexible hours to accommodate remote work.
