Responsibilities
- Aid in the development, instructional support, and training analysis for operational and logistical requirements to support SBTC.
- Employ expertise in curriculum, question and test development, classroom and lab instructional techniques, training aids, student progress measurement strategies, and course management.
- Develop, revise, and maintain courses of instruction, including writing correspondence in professional format daily.
- Utilize computers, programs, and devices such as MS PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote, Navy’s Sked program, and smart boards.
- Communicate effectively with foreign trainees and provide public speaking and presentation tips.
- Manage team cohesion and meet deadlines.
- Teach risk management and utilize written and oral communication principles.
- Assist with training analysis, instructional support, and curriculum development.
- Evaluate training aids and recommend upgrades or changes.
- Provide instruction and information on SOF unique watercraft, weapon systems, and equipment.
- Complete specific criteria for COMNAVSPECWARCOM INST 3591.1C to conduct duties as Range Officer in Charge (ROIC) and Range Safety Officer (RSO).
- Coordinate learning standards office inputs and maintain Instructor-Training Records (ITRs).
- Support instructor certification and evaluation programs.
- Conduct contractor instructor evaluations and provide training quality indicator summary data.
- Maintain and update Command Corporate enterprise Training Activity Resources System (eTARS) and Catalog of Navy Training Courses (CANTRAC) databases.
Qualifications
- Six (6) years’ leadership and instructor experience in a formal training environment with no degree, or four (4) years’ experience with a degree in Education or Instructional Development.
- Four (4) years’ experience as a Navy Enlisted Qualification (NEC 805A) Instructor or sister service equivalent.
- US Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) certification or another agency equivalent.
- Six (6) years’ experience in course curriculum management.
- Five (5) years’ experience in oral communication principles, methods, and techniques.
- Fluency in English; ability to also speak fluently in Spanish and/or French is preferred.
- Five (5) years of military leadership and training experience in providing and planning instruction for an international military audience.
- Courses taught incorporate dynamic and static small arms “Live Fire” action during instruction.
- Maintain Level 1 Fitness Standard: able to manipulate equipment, board vessels, and sustain being underway during training.
- Work non-standard schedules.
