About the role
Lukos has been delivering professional services to the Federal Government for 15 years. We help a variety of federal agencies in areas such as national security, homeland security, international development, training, analytics, healthcare, and other professional services. Since our founding, we have grown to support all military services and multiple federal civilian agencies.
Responsibilities
- Assist with development, instructional support, and training analysis for operational and logistical requirements to support SBTC.
- Employ expertise in the methodology of curriculum, question and test development, effective classroom and lab instructional techniques, employment of training aids, student progress measurement strategies and course management.
- Develop, revise, and maintain courses of instruction.
- Affiliate with the management of assigned courses.
- Affiliate with training analysis, instructional support, and utilize skills in the methodology of curriculum and test question development, effective classroom instructional techniques, employment of training aids, student progress measurement strategies and course management.
- Utilize written and oral communication principles, methods, and techniques; analytical methods; and interpersonal relations practices.
- Affiliate with analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum for assigned courses, to determine the need for new or revised curricula.
- Communicate with the Government Representative, Training Officer and Learning Standards Officer (LSO), boat drivers, engineers, technicians, contractors, vendors, and manufacturers to assist in the development of new curricula.
- Affiliate with coordination of schedules between Operational, Communications and Maintenance related courses to support end of course Field Training Exercises (FTX).
- Affiliate with revision, development, and implementation of long range plans to anticipate and incorporate new procedures and technological developments into the respective curriculums.
- Affiliate with training analysis and instructional support for various weapon systems as provided, outboard engines, navigation, and communications equipment.
- Affiliate with evaluation of training aids and provide recommendations to determine need for upgrades or changes.
- Provide instruction and information regarding the inspection, preventative maintenance, modification, technological developments, and operation of SOF unique watercraft.
- Provide instruction and information regarding program and technical support for various watercraft equipment and weapon systems in accordance with the following Naval Instructions: OPNAVINST 5100.19E, Safety Precautions for Forces Afloat; OPNAVINST 3500.39C, Operational Risk Management; OPNAVINST 4790.4 Series, Maintenance and Material Management (3-M) Manual; and OPNAVINST 5530.13C Arms, Ammunition and Explosives Physical Security.
- Affiliate with planning inputs to the Learning Standards Office and Course Curriculum Model Monitor (CCMM) relating to the development, maintenance, or revision of their assigned course.
- Affiliate with coordination of the training program with all assigned personnel and maintain Instructor-Training Records.
- Affiliate and support the instructor certification program and in coordinating the evaluation program.
- Affiliate with conducting scheduled and unscheduled contractor instructor evaluations to ensure quality training and delivery techniques are utilized.
- Provide observation and assistance to ensure exam security and testing during exams and testing.
- Affiliate with Academic Review Boards.

- Affiliate with testing and ensuring exam security.
- Affiliate with maintaining and updating Command Corporate enterprise Training Activity Resources System (eTARS) and Catalog of Navy Training Courses (CANTRAC) databases.
Requirements
- Six (6) years’ leadership and instructor experience in a formal training environment with no degree, or four (4) years’ leadership and instructor experience in a formal training environment with a degree or certificate in either Education or Instructional Development.
- US Navy Master Training Specialist (MTS) certification or another agency equivalent.
- Four (4) years’ experience as a Navy Enlisted Qualification (NEC 805A) Instructor or sister service equivalent.
- Six (6) years’ experience in course curriculum management.
- Five (5) years’ experience in oral communication principles, methods and techniques. Shall be fluent in English. Ability to also speak fluently in Spanish and/or French is preferred.
- Five (5) years of military leadership and training experience in providing and planning instruction aimed for an international military audience.
- Courses taught incorporate the use of dynamic and static small arms “Live Fire” action during course of instruction.
- Be able to maintain Level 1 Fitness Standard.
- Be able to work non-standard schedules.
