Lead Cook

The Lead Cook at Maverick Golf and Ranch Club will play a vital role in the culinary department, supporting the creation of unique dining experiences for members and guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Aid in setting up and preparing the culinary program for the season and daily operations.
• Set up assigned station with predetermined mise en place for service readiness.
• Cook food items according to designated menus and recipes, ensuring quality, presentation, and adherence to food preparation checklists.
• Monitor food quality and presentation during preparation, restock inventory, and alert the Sous Chef of low stock items.
• Control the pace of food orders and set the tone for efficient ticket flow.
• Perform tasks such as peeling, chopping, preparing cuts of meat, filleting, deboning fish, putting away deliveries, and cleaning stations and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational training with job-related courses (preferred).
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in high volume, upscale restaurants, luxury hotels, or resorts/private clubs.
• Familiarity with a range of cooking techniques and understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.

• Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
