About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) seeks a Full-Time Contacting Officer, GS-1102-13, to support the mission of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) at 4th Contracting Squadron, 4th Mission Support Group, 4th Fighter Wing, ACC, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. The position offers a salary range of $111,147 – 144,493, with the possibility of moving expenses and a relocation incentive.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a professional Contracting Officer performing duties in support of a military installation.
  • Must have or have the knowledge to earn a $25M CO warrant upon taking position.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance.
  • Education requirements: A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. Transcripts must be included.
  • Must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
  • Knowledge of the business environment, principles, methods, and tools used to assist in risk identification, assessment, and mitigation, including assessing the probability and consequences of potential problems.
  • Knowledge of contract negotiation, administration, and termination principles, policies, procedures, and technical requirements; and knowledge of price and cost analysis sufficient to review proposals against previous history, actual and estimated expenditures, and established rates to determine price reasonableness or to determine a negotiation position.
