Lead Contract Specialist

Duties

Help Serves as a team leader and the senior level warranted contracting officer with signature authority to support all assigned pre-award and/or post-award functions for a wide variety of highly complex contracts.

Ensures that all acquisition documents are in full compliance with contracting regulations and related DoD standards.

Develops and implements innovative business strategies, including e-commerce solutions to improve customer support.

Evaluates the adequacy of systems and the contractor's financial health and determines their potential impact on assigned programs.

Interacts with all facets of the supply chain in order to forecast/troubleshoot problems and acquire the most definitive status/information available for customers and Directorate personnel.

Provides technical directions and administrative oversight for team members engaged in efforts regarding customer liaison and support vendor surveillance, requirements determination and the use of automated databases and tracking systems.

Develops training modules, input for training sessions, and both formal and informal written guidance to assist all contracting personnel in program requirements and/or acquisition techniques.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Lead Contract Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees OR
• a current civilian employee in DoD or member of the Armed Forces, who occupied an 1102 position, contracting officer position, or comparable military contracting position with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold on or before September 30, 2000, are excluded from the requirements of "A)" above.
• Must possess at least two years of experience in a contracting position.
