Lead Concrete Curb Finisher

About the Role
As a Curb Concrete Finisher, you'll help install and finish curb and gutter systems that become a permanent part of every project. Your craftsmanship will directly impact the quality, appearance, drainage, and longevity of each job.
Responsibilities
- Finish curb and gutter to HGC quality standards.
- Shape, edge, and smooth freshly placed concrete using hand tools.
- Read, understand, and check grades and elevations from grade stakes, as well as maintain proper alignment and dimensions of curb.
- Assist with forming, pouring, stripping, and repairing curb sections.
- Perform radius work, transitions, ADA ramps, and tie-ins.
- Understand ADA percentages and tolerances.
- Place expansion joints with precise distances and placements for each municipality.
- Repair imperfections and ensure a consistent finished appearance.
- Work safely around curb machines and other heavy equipment.
- Communicate effectively with foremen, superintendents, and teammates to understand site goals and direction.
- Work closely with teammates to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Help mentor labor and less experienced finishers.
- Participate in HGC Academy training and continue developing your craft.

Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Able to read and decipher blueprints.
- 5+ years of experience finishing curbs.
- Experience working around curb machines.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and Fit for Duty examination.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of concrete placement, finishing techniques, and curing practices.
- Ability to recognize quality issues before they become problems.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well with crews in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as project needs require.
Physical Demands
- Able to stand/sit for extended periods, as well as stoop, kneel, walk, bend, crouch, lift, and crawl as required.
- Able to lift, carry, and hold building materials, tools, and supplies.
- Able to maintain constant alertness and situational awareness on the job site.
- Able to perform job responsibilities outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
- Able to communicate audibly and visually while exposed to varying levels of noise, dust, and substances commonly found on construction sites.
- Able to use hands, arms, and feet for repetitive lifting and carrying of construction materials.
- Able to lift 20 lbs frequently and 40 lbs occasionally.
- Any other physical demand required by assigned duties.
