About the role
The Commercial Manager (CM) drives functional and operational Commercial Intensity and Policy 5.0 rigor for assigned deal opportunities. The CM will manage the quoting, proposal generation, contract negotiation, and ITO-OTR turnover processes for all assigned deal opportunities of the assigned segment and sub-region.
Responsibilities
- Work as a key member of the region Inquiry To Order (“ITO”) team in support of achieving the region’s commitments, orders, sales, cash, operating profit, and margin targets for the applicable segment.
- Lead the ITO proposal generation and contract formation process for low to medium complex projects across the segment with the intent of developing winning strategies to leverage successful deal closures while ensuring compliance with established guidelines for the Policy 5.0 risk management process, the advance release process.
- Support the regional Sales team before/during commercial and technical meetings/negotiations with customers.
- Drive the proposal and contract processes to develop scope, cost, risk, and market / value pricing strategy for an assigned deal opportunity to provide technical and commercial solutions meeting both customer and GE’s requirements and business goals.
- Ensure process adherence to all government contracting requirements with support from GE legal resources.
- Reduce cost-of-quality issues arising from inaccurate or poor scope definition, costing, or contract drafting during the ITO process and inadequate handovers during the ITO-OTR handover and advance release process for assigned deal opportunities.
- Develop personal commercial, and technical skill sets to enable further personal ITO processes empowerment, simplification, and speed.
Requirements
- Graduate Degree in Engineering, Business, or related discipline from an accredited university or college
- Min. 3 years experience within the Power Generation Industry

- Strong time management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and tight deadlines
- Strategic business mindset with solid understanding of financials, long‑term contracts
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools to model scenarios and drive informed deal decisions
- Strong business acumen, including the ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations
- Excellent oral, written, and technical/commercial communication skills, including contract reading and writing
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with deal teams and influence outcomes
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, able to quickly build trust and credibility
- High level of integrity and ethical judgment in all decisions, communications, and actions

Pay
The pay range for this position is between $92,800.00 and $154,700.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
