About the role
As a Lead Commercial HVAC Installer, you will oversee complex installation projects, lead field crews, and ensure systems are installed correctly, safely, and efficiently. This role blends technical expertise with field leadership, offering the opportunity to take ownership of job sites and mentor the next generation of installers.
Responsibilities
- Lead installation of commercial HVAC systems, including:
- Rooftop Units (RTUs)
- Chillers and boilers
- VRF/VRV systems
- Full ductwork systems
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings
- Supervise, mentor, and motivate installation crews
- Ensure all work meets safety codes, quality standards, and project specifications
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades
- Troubleshoot and resolve job site challenges in real time
- Train and develop junior technicians and apprentices
- Track progress, maintain documentation, and communicate updates

Requirements
- 8–12+ years of commercial HVAC installation experience
- Proven experience leading installation crews
- Strong knowledge of:
- RTUs, chillers, boilers, and duct systems
- HVAC controls and mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- EPA 608 Universal Certification (required)
- OSHA certification (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- High school diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs
- Work at heights and in confined spaces
- Frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, and standing
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
Work Environment
- Commercial construction sites and mechanical rooms
- Exposure to high-voltage systems and moving equipment
- Fast-paced, hands-on job environment
Pay
$30.00–$38.00 per hour
