Lead Caregiver- Hood River

About the role

Our Lead Caregivers are experienced individuals who help with our most critical shifts, including fill-ins, new clients, and training shifts with new caregivers. They must be available to work on short notice during their assigned availability times with clients in any of their assigned branch service areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform all Caregiver Job Duties as listed below
• Fill in as needed for critical shifts
• Assist with new client intakes
• Train new caregivers

Caregiver Job Duties

• Support clients in activities of daily living, including:
  • Household chores (cleaning, laundry, dishes, etc.)
  • Cooking and/or serving meals
  • Helping clients bathe, dress, and groom
  • Providing companionship through daily activities and hobbies
  • Driving clients (as needed) to the store or appointments
  • Monitoring and reporting on their condition
  • Assisting with gait belt or Hoyer transfers

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Ability to pass a state and national background check
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and clean driving record
• Ability to transport clients in your own vehicle
• Ability to adapt to flexible schedules
• Ability to lift a minimum of 10 lbs and up to 50 lbs rarely
• One year experience in home care, AFH, hospital, or nursing home setting
• Must own a smartphone with capabilities to download and use a mobile app
• HCA or C.N.A. certification preferred but not required

Pay

$23.50 per hour, plus paid training and mileage reimbursement.

Additional Information

If you have not previously completed the state-required 8-hour Home Care Pulse caregiver training, you will be required to complete the training along with the nurse-led medication training before you can work with clients. You will be paid to complete both trainings.
