Essential Functions
- Manage an assigned caseload of clients, providing comprehensive career development guidance and support.
- Lead, train, and mentor a small team of Career Development Specialists to ensure optimal client outcomes and program effectiveness.
- Take on job developer duties to help the team achieve placements goals.
- Train and implement a comprehensive plan outlining activities, goals, and community referrals for each participant.
- Conduct thorough assessments of job seekers to gather information on their skills, experience, and needs.
- Guide and support Career Development Specialists in identifying resources to help participants achieve livable wages.
- Draft service plans that complement plans.
- Attend meetings with the Program Supervisor, funders, or employers seeking to hire veterans.
- Provide leadership and support to other Employment Career Specialists while also delivering direct services to clients seeking employment.
Qualifications
- Annual Driving Test and MVR check.
- Extensive criminal background, drug and motor vehicle checks, and adherence to Salvation Army Child Safety and Protect the Mission guidelines.
- A valid California Class C Driver’s license and the ability to travel across multiple counties for participant assistance or program needs.
- 2 years of experience in Homeless services and 2 years of experience in a Leadership position.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in employment services.

- Able to represent the Salvation Army to employers and community organizations.
- Knowledge: Vocational Development Planning.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a proven ability to streamline tasks and improve efficiency.
- Veteran status a plus.
- Ability to work well with others and committed to the vision that CIS/VES be a program of excellence.
