Lead Business Systems Analyst, Payments (contract)

About the role

In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within Business Execution and contribute to large-scale planning related to Business Execution deliverables. You will review and analyze moderately complex Business Execution challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors, contribute to the resolution of issues, and consult with others to meet deliverables while leveraging a solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. You will collaborate with client personnel in Business Execution.

Responsibilities

• Act as a liaison between the business client and technical organization by planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of complex business problems.
• Lead requirements elicitation sessions to understand business problems and how proposed system enhancements address them while assessing impact to existing functionality and business processes.
• Lead or participate in grooming sessions, author user stories, attend size/commit sessions, and provide feedback in retrospectives.
• Produce business requirement artifacts—including Use Cases, Business and Message Rules, User Stories, Supplemental (non-functional) Specifications, and Business Validation Plans—and collaborate with stakeholders on large and complex projects.
• Engage throughout the project life cycle, from inception through post-install transition.
• Work directly with all levels through senior management across the organization as a high-level expert.
• Work as a self-starter under tight deadlines and be comfortable collaborating with technical and business teams.
• Work with user groups to develop training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and perform necessary requirements-gathering activities.

Requirements

• Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
• Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. (This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.)
• Experience with using AI tools to capture business requirements and accelerate work.
• Demonstrated ability to define, measure, and achieve business outcomes by establishing baseline metrics, setting target performance goals, and tracking progress to realization.
• Experience working with the following applications: J-Systems, Ops Online (1CBR), PYPP, 1CWK, GMTS, or EMTS.
• Business Analyst experience.
• Payments experience within ISO20022, Wires, SWIFT, ACH, Sanctions, Investigations, electronic payments, and/or other related payments.
• Experience in projects in an Agile environment, implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery mind-set.
• Knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
• Experience in writing user stories within an Agile environment.
• Experience partnering with line of business to gather business requirements.
• Experience identifying inefficiencies, finding opportunities to streamline business processes, and implementing change.
• Process improvement experience.
• Strong root cause analysis skills.
• Financial services industry experience.
• Risk management and mitigation experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint).
