About the role

Serve guests in a hospitable manner to ensure a positive guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis, including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments, and produce based on daily function projections.
• Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
• Greet guests courteously, promote and document drink orders, mix, garnish, and present drinks using standard recipes while practicing portion control.
• Abide by all state, federal, and corporate requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Input orders into a register at the point of sale, create checks for guests (including those served by other beverage servers), and maintain accountability for all beverages served.
• Handle cash transactions, make change, verify charge validity, record charges, and ensure proper voucher execution to balance all money.
• Lock and store all beverage, food, and equipment items; secure cash drops and bank deposits.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must communicate well with guests.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages.
• Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count banks, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnishes, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and retrieve stock from overhead (with or without reasonable accommodation).
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items (with or without reasonable accommodation).
• Ability to operate a keyboard and point-of-sale system to pre-check and close out orders (with or without reasonable accommodation).
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods (with or without reasonable accommodation).
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.

Pay

Salary Range: $12.00 hourly (tipped/service charge eligible).
