Lead, Bakery-Warehouse

About the role

We are seeking a Forklift Operator to join our team at our Van Nuys Bakery. As a Forklift Operator, you will be accountable for safely moving, storing, and handling materials and finished goods to ensure efficient production flow and accurate order fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift and material handling equipment to transport materials between warehouse, production, and packing areas
• Load and unload trucks while ensuring accuracy, product integrity, and safe handling practices
• Stage and prepare customer orders for shipment in accordance with schedules and requirements
• Store palletized products in designated warehouse locations following FIFO inventory practices
• Maintain accurate documentation for inventory movement, shipments, and production materials
• Adhere to safety, GMP, quality, and regulatory standards while maintaining a clean and organized work environment
• Inspect, report, and address equipment or product issues to support safe and efficient operations

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing, warehouse, or related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience
• Valid and current forklift operator license/certification
• Ability to work in cold storage environments with exposure to temperature fluctuations and flour dust
• Ability to regularly stand, walk, sit, and operate equipment, with occasional bending, twisting, and reaching

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality, and compliance standards

Skills

• Experience in food manufacturing or bakery environment
• Familiarity with FIFO inventory systems and warehouse processes
• Experience working in refrigerated or frozen warehouse environments
• Knowledge of GMPs, food safety, and quality assurance standards
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Benefits

• Compensation: Hourly Rate: $22.75-$24.50
• Shift & Schedule: Shift: 1st Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm Weekend availability: Required

The final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to location, shift, education, skill, and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed in this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
