About The Role As a Lead AV Install Technician, you will play a key leadership role in executing advanced audiovisual installations from start to finish. You'll manage on-site teams, ensure flawless technical integration, and partner closely with project managers and clients to deliver top-tier results. Key Responsibilities Installation & System Integration Deploy, configure, and integrate complex AV solutions, including video walls, advanced audio systems, control platforms, and unified communications technology. Ensure every installation adheres strictly to company quality benchmarks and industry best practices. Technical Execution & Quality Assurance Read, interpret, and work directly from AV schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation. Commission systems, perform comprehensive testing, and systematically troubleshoot technical issues to ensure optimal performance. Leadership & Team Mentorship Lead installation crews on-site, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous learning. Mentor and train junior technicians to help them elevate their skills. Project & Client Management Coordinate with Project Managers to keep deployments on schedule and within defined scope. Communicate effectively with client contacts, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Maintain accurate system documentation, markups, and project logs. What You Bring Required Qualifications Experience: 5+ years of hands-on AV installation experience, ideally with prior experience as a Lead Tech or Crew Leader. Core Technical Knowledge: Strong mastery of low-voltage wiring, AV signal flow, network fundamentals, and control systems. System Familiarity: Demonstrated experience with major enterprise platforms (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS). Schematic Literacy: Ability to read and translate architectural drawings and AV line diagrams into functional builds. Preferred Certifications AVIXA CTS Vendor certifications (Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, etc.) Key Competencies Technical Mastery: Deep understanding of AV/IT technology and signal paths. Problem Solver: Calm under pressure with a logical approach to troubleshooting. Detail-Oriented: Focused on clean cabling, neat rack builds, and seamless finishes. Natural Leader: Clear communicator who leads by example and builds strong team morale. Work Environment & Physical Demands Environment: Dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative across client sites and active construction environments. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50+ lbs, work on ladders/scaffolding/lifts, and stand for extended periods. Travel: Regular local travel to regional project sites.
