Lead Assembler - Rail

As the Production Assembly Lead – Rail, you will coordinate and support the assembly of products to meet production schedules and quality standards. This role serves as a technical and operational resource for the team, ensuring efficient workflow, troubleshooting issues, and mentoring team members to enhance performance and understanding of processes and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely processing of parts through designated departments in alignment with established schedules and part availability.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve issues while maintaining consistent workflow and minimizing disruptions.
• Monitor and report on line performance across safety, quality, and delivery metrics; maintain visibility of jobs required to ship versus jobs completed; apply troubleshooting skills to resolve production roadblocks and drive continuous improvement.
• Assist in training, mentoring, and supporting team members in understanding assembly procedures, technologies, and best practices.
• Provide hands-on assistance with Return Material Review (RMR) processes, ensuring accurate documentation and resolution.
• Adjust, repair, or replace electrical and electronic components to correct defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Position, align, or adjust workpieces and electrical parts to facilitate accurate wiring and assembly.
• Explain and demonstrate assembly procedures or techniques to team members to promote consistency and skill development.
• Perform functional test procedures as required to validate product integrity and performance.
• Read and interpret bills of materials and technical drawings to guide assembly and setup processes.
• Perform set-ups using basic tools, jigs, and test equipment, ensuring readiness and accuracy.
• Assess equipment protocols during setup with attention to complexity and compliance requirements.
• Other job duties as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in production assembly or a related field.
• Strong understanding of electrical and electronic components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation.
• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and training capabilities.
• Familiarity with quality assurance processes and RMR procedures.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word) preferred.
• Prior experience with ERP environments (e.g., Syteline) required.
