About the role

Individuals in the Business Analysis role serve as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization. They collect, analyze, develop, document, and communicate business requirements, supporting user testing to achieve business goals. Business Analysts seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, deepen client relationships, and manage customer expectations.

Based on their understanding of business needs and processes, they collaborate with IT professionals to determine if solutions exist or if new solutions are feasible. They assess how solutions impact existing work processes and systems and manage integration. Business Analysts identify technology opportunities that align with corporate business strategies and educate both project teams and business units on goals and the value of information technology.

Through adaptable communication skills, they translate between technical and business language, negotiate requirements across groups, and work collaboratively. Business Analysts must understand the client’s business processes, key success drivers, and both short- and long-term business direction. They should have a working knowledge of the business area they support and strong alignment with the IT department.
