Lead Analyst, Credit Analytics

This role offers an exciting opportunity to learn and drive significant business results by optimizing our credit risk underwriting and pricing strategies. These strategies include approval/decline decisions, loan amount assignment, term, pricing, and risk appetite framework optimization to drive healthy revenue growth, loss mitigation, and process streamlining for better profitability and a healthy lending portfolio.
We are looking for team members who are excited about creating, designing, and implementing new solutions to business challenges with limited supervision. This role involves pulling data, conducting deep analysis, applying critical thinking, and leveraging business acumen to understand customer behavior and develop profitable strategies. The successful candidate will summarize their work and communicate effectively with management.
Working with various partners, you will also handle reporting, strategy implementation, validation, and ad-hoc analyses, including customer segmentation, competitive analysis, sensitivity analysis, modeling, and performance reviews. You will expand your competencies, grow your business and industry knowledge, and work on complex processes across the end-to-end project cycle. The role encourages developing insights and pushing traditional boundaries in the lending industry.
Responsibilities
- Design, recommend, document, and execute consumer credit underwriting and pricing strategies with limited guidance from your manager, using historical customer performance data from multiple systems.
- Utilize data query tools (e.g., R, SAS, SQL, MATLAB, Python) and decision tree analytical software to develop, test, and execute new strategies.
- Leverage traditional regression models and machine learning algorithms to understand key drivers and estimate customer behaviors under different strategy treatments.
- Drive profitable business growth by developing a strategy optimization framework with a full credit-cycle view.
- Implement quality control processes to ensure data accuracy.
- Continually enhance existing processes and reporting through automation, quality control, presentation, and insights.
- Effectively summarize and present results and insights to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred) in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Business Management, or Computer Science.
- 3+ years of experience in complex, data-driven problem solving. Master’s or PhD degrees may offset experience requirements.
