Lead Airport Maintenance Worker

About the role

The Peachtree City Airport Authority is seeking a Lead Airport Maintenance Worker to assist with the supervision of airport maintenance staff and perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain airport lighting and navigational aid (NAVAID) systems
• Maintain runways and taxiways
• Maintain fuel storage systems
• Maintain buildings, hangars, and security fencing
• Maintain airport grounds
• Operate and maintain heavy equipment
• Cookpdate daily maintenance activities
• Respond to emergencies
• Ensure compliance with airport safety standards

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid Georgia driver's license
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physically demanding work, including bending, climbing, squatting, crawling, and working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screening

Qualifications

• Experience in airport maintenance or airport-related systems
• Prior crew lead, team lead, or supervisory experience
• Experience as an automotive and/or heavy equipment mechanic/technician
• Heavy equipment operating experience
• Experience operating within an Airport Movement Area (AMA)
• Knowledge of airport lighting, pavement, building, and grounds maintenance

Benefits

Comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, life, vision, and retirement benefits. Pay range is $20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
