Lead Maintenance Worker
About the role
The purpose of this position is to perform in a lead capacity to monitor and maintain grounds and facilities as part of a team for the Brazos River Authority (BRA).
Responsibilities
- Overseeing less experienced employees while maintaining, repairing, cleaning, and renovating BRA facilities, parks, and equipment.
- Routine grounds maintenance tasks such as cleaning and maintaining parks and restrooms, mowing, weed-eating, trimming trees, fertilizing, operating sprinkler systems, repairing cement and rock work fixtures, constructing and repairing fences, gates, picnic tables, awnings and buildings.
- Performing building maintenance tasks such as painting; installing carpet; providing plumbing repairs and assisting with electrical repair and installations.
- Assisting with dam operations, performing routine equipment maintenance, daily record keeping, and interacting and providing customer service with other employees.
- Using a variety of heavy equipment which may include dump trucks, front end loaders, backhoes, skid loaders, mini-excavators, cranes, compressors, jack hammers, boats, and tractors to perform necessary maintenance and repairs.
Requirements
- A minimum of six years experience or equivalent education.
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License and Good Driving Record.
- Preferred: Commercial Driver's License or Texas Class B Driver's License; Welding Certification; and/or Refrigerant Certification.

Pay
Starting salary range: $23.66 to $30.17 per hour. This is a non-exempt position.

Today, BRA's staff develops and distributes water supplies, provides water and wastewater treatment, monitors water quality, and pursues water conservation through public education programs.
