About the role

TeamHealth is seeking an experienced emergency medicine advanced practice clinician (nurse practitioner or physician assistant) to serve as the lead APC at St. Anthony Hospital Emergency Department in Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality emergency medical care consistent with TeamHealth clinical standards and evidence-based practice
  • Maintain clinical competency and productivity expectations while serving in a leadership capacity
  • Serve as the primary clinical and operational leader for the APC team
  • Mentor and support APCs through onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing professional development
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration among physicians, APCs, nursing staff, and hospital personnel
  • Act as a resource for clinical questions, workflow concerns, and professional guidance
  • Partner with the facility medical director and TeamHealth leadership to achieve departmental goals
  • Aid in APC scheduling, staffing optimization, and coverage management
  • Monitor productivity, documentation quality, patient satisfaction, and operational metrics
  • Support recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and retention of APC team members
  • Participate in performance evaluations and clinician development initiatives
  • Champion TeamHealth quality standards and patient safety initiatives
  • Participate in peer review, chart review, and quality improvement activities
  • Assist with implementation of evidence-based clinical practices and process improvements
  • Support compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and TeamHealth standards
  • Serve as a liaison between TeamHealth leadership, hospital administration, physicians, and APC staff
  • Attend leadership meetings and communicate organizational updates to APC team members
  • Promote a positive workplace culture focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
  • Support change management initiatives and operational enhancements

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program
  • Current Oklahoma licensure as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner
  • Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
  • Minimum of three years of EM experience as an advanced practice clinician
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred

  • Previous lead APC or supervisory experience
  • Experience with clinician scheduling, mentoring, and performance management
  • Familiarity with ED quality metrics and operational workflows
