About the Role
Rush University System for Health, a national leader in patient care, education, and research, invites applications for the Outpatient Hematology Lead Advanced Practice Provider position. This role is part of RUSH MD Anderson Cancer Center, a partnership between Rush University System for Health and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, offering advanced clinical integration and access to world-class cancer treatments and research.
The department includes nine outpatient Hematology APP direct reports and collaboration with six Hematologists. Rush is ranked #29 by U.S. News & World Report for Cancer care.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Four, 10-hour shifts per week
- 90% clinical, 10% administrative
Reports directly to the Cancer Service Line APP Manager. Position is 100% outpatient.
Responsibilities
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost-effective and high-quality patient care. The role exemplifies Rush’s mission, vision, and values while adhering to Rush policies, procedures, and guidelines, including Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. The APP will meet all state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of Advanced Practice Provider experience in Hematology or another cancer-related specialty
Nurse Practitioner Requirements
- Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse (or eligible to obtain licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation)
- Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a clinical specialty appropriate to the position
- Current certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
- CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Physician Assistant Requirements
- Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate (or eligible to obtain licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation)
- Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program
- Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Pay
Total pay range: $151,000 – $202,000 for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee. The range reflects factors such as specialty, relevant experience, training, and organizational needs. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign-on bonuses, and relocation allowances.
