About the role

Rush University System for Health and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center have partnered to create RUSH MD Anderson Cancer Center, offering advanced clinical and operational integration in cancer care. This full-time (0.9–1.0 FTE) inpatient position is part of a team of four Hematology Advanced Practice Providers, working alongside one Hematologist and one Hematology Hospitalist on the inpatient service.

Responsibilities

  • Rotating four-day, 10-hour shift schedule (days only), covering the unit seven days per week
  • Promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost-effective, high-quality patient care
  • Adhere to Rush mission, vision, and values, as well as policies, procedures, and customer service standards
  • Meet all state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards

Requirements

Nurse Practitioner

  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse (or eligible to obtain through IDFPR)
  • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice with clinical specialty appropriate to the position
  • Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
  • Acute Care Certification (APRN candidates)
  • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Physician Assistant

  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate (or eligible to obtain through IDFPR)
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program
  • Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications

Qualifications

  • Preferred: Previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in a cancer-related specialty
  • Relevant RN experience may be considered

Pay

Total pay range: $124,610 – $175,000 (for full-time, 1.0 FTE). Includes base pay, benefits, and incentive programs. Additional compensation may include premium pay, sign-on bonuses, or relocation allowances.
