About the role

We assist the Federal Facilities Section by performing a range of general activities in direct support of the team including but not limited to clerical, printing services, mail services, administrative, and other business support activities ensuring the timely, accurate, and efficient flow of work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support functions such as expenditure control; accounting; maintenance of files and records; requisitioning, storage, issuance, and/or local procurement of supplies and equipment; approval of requisitions for payment of operating expenses; preparing expense reports and booking travel.
  • Serve as the main contact for the section through administration of the section’s main e-mail account and phone number and delegate calls and/or requests to the proper employee throughout the section.
  • Aid the Section Manager through coordination of communications internally and externally, and in representing the agency to the public, special interest groups, the legislature, and the media.

Requirements

  • Oral and Written Communication: Expresses information effectively, considers the audience and nature of the information; makes clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  • Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Writing: Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information in a succinct, brief, clear, and organized manner; produces written information appropriate for the intended audience.
  • Planning and Evaluating: Organizes work, sets priorities, and determines resource requirements; determines short- or long-term goals and strategies to achieve them; coordinates with other organizations or parts of the organization to accomplish goals; monitors progress and evaluates outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent To Those Typically Gained By 3 to 5 years of general office experience. (Education may substitute for some of the required experience)
  • Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.

The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.
