About the role

Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government airport location in Honolulu, HI. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and communicate professionally with travelers, staff, and public-service partners. This part-time role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you using our Claim a Shift platform.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and other airport stakeholders while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of airport terminals, access points, roadways, parking areas, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to identify and report unusual activity or potential hazards.
  • Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as assigned, and report unauthorized entry attempts or suspicious activity according to established procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, medical events, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with airport operations and public response personnel as required.
  • Prepare clear and accurate activity, incident, and patrol reports, and maintain required equipment in accordance with site procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Supervise contractor personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies, and the public on security disputes or complaints.
  • Provide court appearances for citations issued on behalf of DOTA, with replacement staffing provided for such instances.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level).
  • Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent (credentials must be provided upon applying).
  • Valid Driver’s License (required for driving positions).
  • Law Enforcement Officer License.
  • 22+ years of age.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C. 922(g)(9)).
  • No documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings.
  • No record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental/emotional disorders that may interfere with performance of duties.

Qualifications

  • Completion of one of the following approved programs:
    • Certified State law enforcement recruit training.
    • Certified County law enforcement recruit training.
    • Federal law enforcement training.
    • Programs approved by the Director.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
  • Strong moral character, high standards, and truthfulness.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Courtesy in interpersonal relationships with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement, and security personnel.

Physical Requirements

  • Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all assigned duties.
  • Good physical health and fully capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion, including:
    • Standing, walking, or patrolling for an entire shift.
    • Climbing stairs, running, and self-defense.
    • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (e.g., fire extinguisher) for a designated distance.
    • Assisting in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or supporting persons with limited mobility.
  • Ability to exercise physical force, if required, in the execution of official duties.
  • Pass a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months.
  • Pass a 12-panel drug test and all future random drug testing.
  • Correctable vision to 20/30 in each eye with normal color vision.
  • Able to hear at a normal conversational level (hearing aid permissible).
  • Well-groomed and neat in appearance as officially commissioned representatives of the State.
  • Pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and ID office.

Pay

$34.50 per hour.

Schedule

  • Tuesday: 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM
  • Friday: 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM
  • Saturday: 06:00 AM - 02:30 PM
