Security Officer - Part Time Armed Patrol

As a Security Officer Armed Enhanced Part Time Patrol in Reno, NV, this role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies at an industrial location.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of manufacturing and warehouse areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
- Monitor access to the location, verify credentials as directed, and document visitor, contractor, and vehicle activity in accordance with site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following applicable emergency response protocols.
- Prepare clear and timely reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
Requirements
- Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
- Have access control or badge experience (preferred).
- Have customer service experience (preferred).
- Possess an armed guard card or license (preferred).
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Schedule
Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—it’s all up to you.
