About the role

Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government airport location in Kahului, HI. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide professional customer service and communication. Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, employees, and airport stakeholders by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of airport terminals, roadways, parking areas, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials as assigned, and report suspicious persons, vehicles, packages, or activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with airport operations, law enforcement, and emergency personnel as directed.
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports, maintain required documentation, and comply with all applicable post orders, licensing requirements, and firearms-handling procedures.
  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Exercise sound judgement and render immediate, appropriate decisions under stressful conditions.
  • Demonstrate maturity in conduct, behavior, and attitude.
  • Take orders, follow instructions, accept and assume responsibility for one’s actions.
  • Maintain alertness, attentiveness, and professional conduct.
  • Recognize, respond to, and take appropriate corrective actions to various situations.
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing in English.
  • Interact courteously with the public, airport employees, tenants, law enforcement, and security personnel.
  • Provide court appearances for citations issued on behalf of DOTA, with replacement staffing provided for LEOs attending court proceedings.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional law enforcement experience in the U.S. after graduating from a certified law enforcement academy (Federal, State, or County level).
  • Graduate of a Law Enforcement or Military Police Training Program or equivalent (must provide credentials upon applying).
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Law Enforcement Officer License.
  • 22+ years of age.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Completion of one of the following approved programs:
    • Certified State law enforcement recruit training.
    • Certified County law enforcement recruit training.
    • Federal law enforcement training.
    • Programs approved by the Director.
  • No felony convictions or convictions for abuse of a household member under the Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 (18 U.S.C.922(g)(9)).
  • No documented truthfulness infractions in violation of Giglio/Henthorn for federal impeachment proceedings.
  • Ability to supervise personnel and work effectively with airport management, tenants, other law enforcement agencies, and the public on security-related matters.
  • No record of moral turpitude, domestic violence, untruthfulness, or mental or emotional disorders that may interfere with performance of duties.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participation in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Physical Requirements

  • Mentally and emotionally capable of performing all duties required for assigned post/duties.
  • Good physical health and fully capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous physical exertion, such as:
    • Standing, walking, or patrolling for an entire shift.
    • Climbing stairs, running, and self-defense.
  • Ability to perform essential physical tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
    • Lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. (e.g., fire extinguisher) for a designated distance.
    • Assisting in the safe evacuation of individuals, including carrying a small child or providing support to persons with limited mobility.
  • Ability to exercise physical force, if required, in the execution of official duties.
  • Pass a security background check conducted by the DOTA pass and ID office.
  • Well-groomed and neat in appearance as officially commissioned representatives of the State.
  • Pass and complete a one-time physical examination within the past 6 months.
  • Pass a 12-panel drug test and all future random drug testing.
  • Correctable vision to 20/30 each eye with normal color vision.
  • Able to hear at a normal conversational level (a hearing aid may be used).

$38.00 / Hour

  • Part Time
  • Friday: 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM
  • Saturday: 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM
