About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site position reporting to Amentum’s Lead Project Manager. The role involves working on complex water law cases and providing comprehensive litigation support.
Responsibilities
- Perform research and analysis to address legal and historic questions in water law cases.
- Draft motions, briefs, and legal memoranda for dozens of cases across numerous state and federal courts.
- Use Relativity to conduct document review for relevance and privilege.
- Assist attorneys across all phases of litigation, including trial support.
- Work on large projects both independently and as part of a team.
- Interface directly with trial attorneys, experts, and clients.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain MRPT (Moderate Risk Public Trust) facility credentials/authorization. U.S. Citizenship is required for MRPT facility credentials at this location.
- Law degree from an ABA-accredited law school (or currently attending, having completed at least two years of study), or an equivalent level of seven years of legal training or experience, or an equivalent level of education.
- At least two years of progressively responsible experience on litigation support projects or related task orders, including proven capabilities and communication skills to interact with clients and attorneys.
- Sound working knowledge of legal research procedures and resources.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Hands-on familiarity with computer applications, including word processing, databases (e.g., document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
Pay
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position under the Service Contract Act (SCA) with a base rate of $38.10 per hour. In addition to the base rate, you may be eligible for an additional health and welfare payment per hour worked to comply with SCA minimums. The total compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
