About the role
Federal law clerks and staff attorneys support federal judges in safeguarding the constitutional rights and liberties of the public.
Responsibilities
- Review case records and filings
- Conduct legal research
- Provide judges and panels with legal advice
- Prepare bench memos and orders
- Propose disposition of cases
- Draft opinions for panels
Requirements
- Two or more years of work experience by the start of the clerkship
- Three references or recommendation letters
