Laundry Lead Engineer - Full Time

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair all laundry systems and equipment.
• Inform management of problems requiring maintenance and report any equipment deficiencies.
• Receive keys, radio and job assignments daily, coordinate work plan and apply standard maintenance practices.
• Communicate with other shifts to ensure any follow-up on on-going projects in order to minimize down time.
• Ensure that all safety procedures are followed to include, but not limited to; lock-out-tag-out procedures, hot work permits, fire watch, etc.
• Inspect projects to ascertain quality of maintenance and repairs, physical and operations conditions.
• Maintain daily record of work requests, preventative maintenance work requests, craft cards and all union apprentice time sheets and related paperwork.
• Responsible for maintaining optimum operating conditions for proper building operations during varying weather and building loads.
• Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a positive, clear speaking voice.
• Answer questions and offer assistance to provide guest satisfaction.
• Train and act as a role model for other Laundry Engineers, make decisions and take action based on previous experience and good judgment, and when needed, revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations.
• Assign and instruct laundry engineers in details of work.

• Effectively communicate with coworkers, members of the department leadership, and other departments.
• Ability to interpret and follow through on a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability of complex reading, writing, math, and task completion skills is required.
• Must have the following skills: clerical, compiling, coordination, analyzing, instructing, precision working, following instructions, influencing others, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making.
• Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekend hours as business needs dictate.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

• Must have 1 year experience in laundry equipment maintenance or any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly standing, walking, and occasionally sitting, reaching overhead, bending over, crouching, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and balancing during the duration of their shift.
• Must be able to frequently lift/carry and push/pull up to 50lbs or less.
• The team member will occasionally have repetitive use of both feet, frequently have repetitive use of both hands and require frequent light and firm/strong grasping motions.
• Constant use of vision abilities is required including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work performed indoors and outdoors, alone and frequently with and around others.
• Team Member will perform work face-to-face including verbal contact with others on extended shifts around computer equipment, mechanical devices, flame/heat generated devices, and other electrical devices.
• Team member may have to work in confined areas, extreme heat, extreme cold, wet and/or humid conditions as well as around solvents/oils, dirt/dust, moving objects, high places, and slippery surfaces.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud at times and possible exposure to vibrations.
• Team Member may be exposed to fumes/odor and/or secondhand smoke.
